Week 12 Update: Challenges, Poster Ideas, Menu Planning, and FM Channel Messages
During the twelfth week of our food waste management project at MAS Intimate Pannala, we faced some challenges in meeting with Thushanthi Madam. Nevertheless, we continued to make progress by collecting ideas for posters, engaging in menu planning discussions, and recording FM channel messages. This update highlights the key activities and developments during this week.
Challenges in Meeting with Thushanthi Madam:
In Week 12, we faced difficulties in scheduling a meeting
with Thushanthi Madam despite our best efforts. We attempted to arrange a
meeting on two to three occasions, but due to conflicting schedules or
unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to connect with her. We remain
committed to finding a suitable time for this crucial meeting to seek her
valuable insights and guidance.
Poster Idea Collection:
During this week, we focused on collecting ideas for
creating informative posters. These posters will play a crucial role in raising
awareness about food waste management among the MAS Intimate Pannala community.
We brainstormed creative and impactful designs to visually convey the
importance of reducing food waste and the steps individuals can take to
contribute to the cause.
Menu Planning Discussions:
As part of our ongoing collaboration with MAS Intimate
Pannala, we engaged in discussions about menu planning. By working closely with
the food committee and other stakeholders, we aim to design menus that minimize
food waste while still meeting the nutritional needs and preferences of the
employees.
FM Channel Message Recording:
Despite limited time availability, we managed to record some
of the FM channel messages. These messages serve as an important medium to
reach a wide audience and inspire behavioral change towards responsible food
waste management. While we were unable to record all the messages during this week,
we are committed to completing the recording process in the upcoming weeks.

In the eleventh week of our food waste management project at MAS Intimate Pannala, we focused on ensuring the quality of our deliverables, actively participating in the Lincom project of the school nutrition programme, and analyzing food waste reports. This update highlights the key activities and achievements during this productive week.
1. Quality Check of Videos:
During Week 11, we completed the video
production process and submitted the final videos to Thushanthi Madam for
quality checking. Her expertise and feedback are crucial in ensuring that the
videos effectively convey the message of food waste management and engage the
audience. This step is vital in delivering impactful content to drive positive
behavioral change.
2. Participation in Lincom Project:
In line with our commitment to community
involvement, we actively participated in the Lincom project of the school
nutrition programme. Collaborating with the school nutrition initiative allowed

benefits of our project to a wider audience.
3. FM Channel Script Quality Check:
We completed the scripts for the FM channel
messages and sent them to both Thushanthi Madam and Mr. Sandaruwan for their

They provided us with two months' worth of food wastage data, which will be analyzed and graphically presented to gain insights into the magnitude of the issue. The video production process continued during Week 9. Our team remained dedicated to capturing and documenting various aspects of food waste management. Despite a setback with the cancellation of the scheduled visit, we remained proactive and engaged in various activities. During this week, we had a productive meeting with Mifra Miss, where we sought her guidance and instructions regarding our project. We discussed the latest developments, shared our plans, and received valuable insights to enhance our efforts in managing food waste effectively.

In collaboration with our team, we meticulously crafted a set of interview questions to gather comprehensive information about MAS Intimate Pannala's food waste management practices. Once finalized, we promptly sent them to Madam for permission to conduct the interviews and gather insights from the relevant stakeholders.

In anticipation of the scheduled visit on 05/26, we diligently prepared the visit agenda, interview questions, and other necessary arrangements. However, due to unavoidable circumstances at MAS Intimates, the visit had to be canceled. While disappointed, we understand that unforeseen events can occur, and we remain flexible in adapting our plans accordingly.
4. Revised Activity Lineup:
As part of our continuous improvement efforts, we thoroughly reviewed and made necessary corrections to the activity lineup. This revised version was then sent to relevant parties for their input and approval. By ensuring accuracy and clarity, we aim to enhance the effectiveness of our project implementation.
